Opportunities aren't made, we create them.
I cant think of any cheesy jokes right now so i'm just going to jump straight to the point. My name is Samantha. I love to admire the world and capture photos of things I find beautiful. I love to read because its like a movie in your head I also like to write because you can play director. Im pretty good at making crazy metaphors and using very sophisticated grammar under pressure. Pretty useless talents I know, but if we are continuing, I can make a water drop sound with my mouth. I am a big believer in stepping out of my comfort zone. When someone says I cant do something, I see that as a challenge. Despite my naturally large physique, I decided to join my high schools track team. It was probably one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever done but, I became one of the most improved athletes that year in throwing. I love to seek discomfort, tackling my fears one-by-one. I joined my communities EMS program. Not a lot of people really know about it but it has been one of my most rewarding challenges yet. It is a very small group of student that train with real paramedics. We learn basic life support, CPR, how to assist a paramedic on calls and even go through fake scenarios. If you improve enough, and the big guy feels as if you are ready enough, you can go on REAL calls. Third riding on the truck was so scary for me, thinking that someones life could potentially be in my hands. (That was never the case, it was all in my head I swear). But it happened to be one of the most eye opening experiences I have ever participated in. The EMS program helped grow me as a person and, guide me towards my future. Anyways, I want to devote my life to two things. 1) I want to travel. No offense school but, there is nothing I hate more than living the same day over and over again. I seek extemporaneousness and I admire the idea of some peoples biggest fear, not knowing what is next. 2) I want to help other people. We were all not put into this world to be selfish. I love people. throughout high school I am almost addicted to being the person that someone would feel most comfortable with talking to, asking for advice or help. Thus concluding, as of now, I want to be a paramedic. I want to travel the world as I help those in need. Its going to take some work but, as I like to say, Opportunities aren't made, we create them.
