We all make such a big deal out of everything. Its as simply as that. People get angry over a line or a scene in a tv show or movie and they don't even enjoy it. People make little things such a huge deal, sometimes even reaching the news. That makes me sad honestly that people focus on such irrelevant things to fight about and make a big deal about when there are real problems in this world that the publicity would help with. Now that is not all about the article. It also talks about the influence books have on this day and age. How some of the TV shoes can effect how we feel about ourselves and others, which makes sense because a TV show like, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians", has been anything anyone is talking about nowadays. It has no point, no life lessons, just a bunch of rich people that want to show off their money in the form of plastic surgery. I like people and i respect opinions, but, I feel like the fame could be used for something much better.
I like this article and I can relate to the author quite a bit. Most people (majority aren't millennials) are all upset about how phones have taken over everyone's life. But that also makes me laugh because if you look at anyone above the millennial time period, they are most likely on their phone too. One thing I hate is we are always put down and stereotypes as the "hopeless" generation. I'm sorry but if you were a teenager and you had a phone, you would be on it too. I do think that our phones have been taken a little too far. But, in a couple years we will wish for this immature technology time back. Phones could be used in great ways suck as, documenting the best, most wanted memories like your babies first steps or, that one time you and your best friend met for the first time in 8 months. Also, to contact family from across the country, world, state or town. And, it can also be used to talk to long lost friends or significant others. And don't forget you can find some of the greatest people online. Some of the best friends you will ever meet that you can talk to your problems with, or share what happened in school that day. But, on the downside I do admit that phones can be bad because there are bad people out there that will try to steal from you, mentally or physically hurt you. But, that is true with anything and that is a risk that you will have to be willing to take. I love the idea of protest. But, in a respectful manor. The thought of people rallying up together and publicly display what they believe is or is not right, is very appealing and satisfying. But, the fact that hundreds and hundreds of people are acting upon violence and hate to commit these awful protest, makes me so upset. I understand that it is what you believe but, the whole Berkeley Protest was completely out of control. Weather it is about gay rights or Donald Trump being president, it is still not acceptable to damage so many things. People are complaining about Trump being such a bad person when they go and destroy a town. It just does not add up to me. This article reaches a point that most people are not exposed to. Which I really like. I agree that reading is vital to success and I believe it can help a lot when it comes to focus, mental capability and your future job. I feel as if I am a reader. As an insomniac, I sometimes read for hours on end from 12:00am to 3:00am. But, I don't only read them to help with my sleeplessness. I believe that readers live thousands of lives. Why not explore books? I find myself reading in times that I am upset or I just need a break. Reading is a great escape. It lets you focus on someone else's life that is not your own (Which sounds bad, but it's a great distraction). Ever since I was a small child in elementary school, I found an interest in reading, the way it could take your mind and transform it into a television- like state. Which is still true. I have learned to love reading and the way it improves my focus, writing and even ways of using better common sense in certain situations. |
